Fundraising for Bukonzo Joint

Update: Thank you everyone for your support. Together we have raised over $5,000 for Bukonzo Joint. This means they are able to repair the damage to their facility as well as replace the equipment they lost in the flooding.

We have received great feedback for the single origin coffee Mountains of the Moon we released for this initiative, and we will be bringing it back in future small batch series. Stay tuned!

One of our coffee producers, Bukonzo Joint Cooperative Union in Uganda have experienced severe flooding in May, 2020. As a result, houses, crops, and milling equipment have been washed out.

Salt Spring Coffee donated $2,700 for immediate relief, and we are now raising funds to help rebuild their facilities by releasing a small batch, single-origin coffee sourced exclusively from Bukonzo Joint.

100% of the profit will be donated to Bukonzo Joint.

The mountain range of East Africa, at the source of the Nile River, is referred to as the Mountains of the Moon. This is where Bukonzo Joint is located.

Producers of high quality, specialty Arabica coffee beans that are certified organic and fair trade, Bukonzo Joint also boasts gender equality focused team and a Sustainability Award from the Specialty Coffee Association.

We have been partners with Bukonzo Joint since 2014.

In 2015, we donated $10,000 to fund a cupping lab at Bukonzo Joint. We have sponsored representatives from Bukonzo Joint to attend Specialty Coffee Association events.

We aim to flourish alongside our coffee producing partners, care for the wellbeing of the planet and roast great coffee!
