We recently worked with our cardboard box supplier to redesign our shipping box. This is our go-to box that holds eight 400-gram bags of whole bean coffee.
A relatively small box like this might not seem like a big deal, but when we order over 60,000 of them per year, the impact adds up.
Through the redesign, we were able to trim the amount of corrugated
cardboard down by 18%, or 0.86 square feet per box. That's well over
one acre--or almost a football field!--of saved cardboard each year.
"Leaning" our manufacturing practices like this is a critical part of our commitment to sustainability.
